It's called Circus. The film is not great (though I love Hannah's voice in just anything he ever cares to act in), but it gives a good feeling for Brighton's seediness potential. I went there for a music festival set in the Fall, and my vision of it is accordingly deserted and melancholy. All this to say I can see how that would work with the book. Oh, have you read any Graham Greene? I finally read some that Jon brought home and he is simple amazing. The Quiet American is one of the most perfect books I've ever read. And Brighton Rock, the other one I read, is SO up your alley! So exciting!
